Will is a young writer, barely scraping by on the meager salary he earns from a day job that leaves his soul feeling as empty as his wallet. When he meets Hope, a beautiful violinist with whom he shares a love of music -- as well as a wall -- his spirits are lifted. Reinvigorated by this intriguing muse next door, Will convinces Hope to perform with him, and the city streets become the perfect stage from which to share his poetry with the world. While the two may hit the perfect musical notes, their relationship isn't always so harmonious, and Will finds he can’t always live up to Hope’s lofty idealism. Struggling to thrive in a city that promises so much but offers so little, Will immerses himself in his writing as he attempts to unravel the inherent complexities in the choices we make that ultimately define who we are and how we are perceived.
But Not For Me is a film about the search for fulfillment through artistic expression, the lines we draw as we struggle to define ourselves, and the underlying truths that ultimately connect us.
